Art Gallery of Northumberland, Cobourg
A wedding inside a public gallery on the third floor of Victoria Hall. One booking covers almost everything. The micro wedding package is built for about 25 guests with 30 chairs in a 550-square-foot main gallery, and it bundles the photographer, officiant, a bouquet and boutonniere, a violinist and appetizers for $2,600 plus HST. Everything runs inside three hours, and beverages are not included (Art Gallery of Northumberland, checked September 14, 2026).
Hotel Carlyle, Port Hope
A 10-room boutique hotel at 86 John Street in a restored 19th-century Italianate building. The dining room, in the former Bank of Upper Canada, holds 40; the glass-covered patio holds 60; the lounge, in a converted carriage house with exposed brick, holds 20. Space rentals start at $800 and exclusive rentals at $5,000 (Hotel Carlyle, checked September 14, 2026). Guests can sleep upstairs. For a rehearsal dinner with out-of-town family, it is hard to beat on paper.
Warkworth Town Hall Centre for the Arts, Trent Hills
Volunteers of the Warkworth Business Association run this hall at 40 Main Street with the Municipality. It seats about 100, the tables, chairs and galley kitchen come with the rental, and a full Saturday is $195 on the 2026 form. Not a typo. Confetti and open-flame candles are not permitted (Warkworth Town Hall and its 2026 rental form, checked September 13, 2026). A small budget goes a long way in a room like this.
Sandy Flat Sugar Bush, near Warkworth
A maple farm the Potter family started in 1977 on 160 acres of maple woods. Ceremonies happen in Potter's Orchard, rows of maples George Potter planted in 1997 for his wife, Alice. The indoor space seats 80 to 90 depending on which of the farm's pages you read, and catering is in-house (Sandy Flat Sugar Bush, checked September 14, 2026). Confirm the seated count before anything else.
After reading that orchard story, it is my pick of the seven for an outdoor ceremony.
Old Camborne School House, Hamilton Township
A restored one-room schoolhouse. It sits at 3441 Albert's Alley in Camborne, with a small kitchenette, a washroom and on-site parking. The Township of Hamilton rents it for $45 plus HST for a private event such as a birthday or an anniversary, and a volunteer takes the bookings by email (Township of Hamilton, checked September 13, 2026). For a small anniversary lunch, this is the one I would look at first.
Ganaraska Forest Centre, Port Hope
A conservation authority centre in the 11,000-acre Ganaraska Forest, rented as a do-it-yourself weekend venue. Think summer camp, grown up. The Great Hall has a stone fireplace and holds 165 for a reception, and 20 dormitory-style bedrooms sleep 80 (Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority, checked September 14, 2026). Full weekend weddings start at $7,604 plus HST from May to October and $6,354 plus HST from November to April (GRCA fee schedule, checked September 13, 2026).
Gores Landing Waterfront Park, Rice Lake
One of three Township of Hamilton waterfront parks on Rice Lake, Ontario, at 5310 Plank Road, with portable washrooms from May to mid-October. Camping and grilling are not permitted (Township of Hamilton, Waterfront Parks, checked September 14, 2026). The Township's booking page does not publish park event rules, so ask Parks and Recreation before planning more than a walk and some photos.
